This date is set aside to serve our homeschooling families!

It’s time to head out to the country and let the kids explore while feeding and petting all the sweet farm animals at this highly interactive petting farm experience. Meet Milkshake the Steer, Dozer the loud mini-cow, Abe and Jorge our donkeys, one of our many goats, Peanut Butter the Daddy goat, Peppa Pig and her daughter, Snowball the bunny, our sweet barn cats Jacques and Diego or some of the fluffy chickens.

In addition to the fun animals, we will explore the paths along the farm and the Big Red Barn. We’ll learn about animal husbandry and also have time to play on the playground. Be sure to pack a lunch picnic as you’ll be ready to eat after feeding all the animals! (The tour itself should last about 2 hours).

Animal Encounters (80 min):
• Chickens & Cows – Learn about egg production, milk, and farm uses.
• Goats & Pigs – Compare diets of herbivores vs. omnivores.
• Donkeys & Bunnies – Discuss adaptations and farm roles.
• Pony Grooming & Barn Cats – Hands-on care and natural pest control.
Teaching Points: Life cycles & classification (Science), compare/contrast (ELA), habitats & survival (Science),
responsibility & stewardship (Social Studies/SEL).

Barn Exploration & Learning (20 min)
Explore the barn and discuss predator protection (fencing, guard animals, secure housing).
Teaching Points: Ecosystems & predator-prey relationships (Science), problem-solving in design (STEM).

Optional Craft or Gem Mining (20 min)
Seasonal craft OR gem mining sluice.
Teaching Points: Craft – creative expression (Art), sequencing (ELA/Math). Gem Mining – observation &
classification (Science), counting/sorting (Math).

Playground & Picnic (50 min)
Enjoy a picnic lunch/snack and free play on the playground.
Teaching Points: Cooperation & teamwork (SEL/PE), nutrition and healthy eating (Health)
